Ruger Pistol Shield pattern Co-Witness Optics Mount

  1. Make sure all parts are included. You should have the following:
    • An optics mount
    • A front sight
    • 2x 6-48 torx screws
    • 2x M3 Hex head screws
  2. Make sure your pistol is unloaded and safe.
  3. Remove your front sight by removing the screw holding it in place. This screw will be re-used, hang on to it.
  4. Remove your rear sight by loosening the set screw in the top, and drifting it from left to right.
  5. Install the rear sight onto the mount by pressing it into the dovetail from right to left. There is an arrow engraved in the mount to indicate the correct direction. Center the sight in the dovetail. Lock the sight in place by tightening the set screw in the top of the sight.
  6. Install the new front sight using the original screw. Do not exceed 5 in-lbs!
  7. Install your optic onto the mount using the included M3 screws. Do not exceed 4.5 in-lbs! Inspect the bottom of the mount to make sure the screws don’t protrude below the bottom of the mount far enough to impact the receiver
  8. Install the optics mount onto the pistol, using the included torx head screws. Do not exceed 7 in-lbs!
  9. Perform a function check and make sure the pistol is safe to fire.
  10. Sight in the irons using the adjustable rear sight as you normally would.
