Description
This replaces the factory magazine release on your Ruger American Rimfire rifle, and allows you to drop the magazine without moving your grip. Ambidextrous, so it can be used no matter which side you shoot from. It also leaves the action screw in front of the trigger guard accessible, so maintenance is quick and easy.
Compatibility notes
Ruger has made a huge variety of the American Rimfire rifles. For the purposes of this mag release, these rifles can be broken down into a few categories:
- Short Action (SA) and Long Action (LA). Short action includes 22lr rifles. Long action includes 22wmr and 17hmr rifles. The difference here, aside from the obvious, is the distance between the rear of the magazine and the front of the trigger guard.
- Factory polymer stocks and factory wood stocks. The difference here is the thickness of the stock below the action block. The wood stocks are thicker, and require a different magazine release to match the contour of the stock and trigger guard.
In the dropdown above, you can select an option that covers all 4 of the combination of categories here.
I have not been able to test on any aftermarket stocks. There are some manufacturers (boyds, for example) that offer stocks that look dimensional very similar to the factory wood stock. If you have a rifle with an aftermarket stock, please reach out using the contact us page before ordering.
Note that I have not been able to test these on every version of the Ruger American Rimfire. If you have any concerns about fitment, please reach out using the contact us page before ordering.
